Welcome to my Web page.

As a recent graduate of Utah State University, with a B.A. in Print Journalism, I am excited for the next stage of my life, which I hope will include writing opportunities.

It has been a longer road than most people travel, largely due to my initial resistance to higher education. I was the type of high school student who had 'senioritis' in my freshman year. Those were four difficult years, and immediately attending college sounded equivalent to death.

After seven years in the work force, I decided I had better get a degree or I would only ever make $10/hour. So as a 26-year-old, I headed south for a degree in psychology. In my second semester, I had English 2010 and creative writing, and realized then that my passion was not in the psyche but in words. I then transfered to USU.

I had many wonderful experiences throughout my four years. I suspect I learned more due to my non-traditional student status and the fact that I was paying my own way. Now at the end of things, I am proud to say I have a degree in journalism from a fine journalism department. I was exposed to many accomplished and talented professors and regret that I cannot take a few more classes before I leave.

It is my intention to take a year to gain experience and then pursue a master's of anthropology at a coastal university, and then write screenplays. Hopefully somewhere in there I will produce my live action short, which is currently staring at me from my bookshelf.
